Secure by default

Brave Wallet is the first secure crypto wallet built directly into the browser. No extensions, no extra steps. That means less vulnerability to faked versions of an app, phishing, and theft.

Multi-chain made simple

Buy, send, store, and swap thousands of assets (and NFTs) seamlessly on 100+ blockchain networks including Ethereum, Solana, Filecoin, and more.

Get more from your wallet

Buy with fiat using Ramp Network, Wyre, and Sardine. Track market performance of top coins with price feeds and market rankings powered by CoinGecko. And see your NFTs in a gallery view. All in Brave Wallet.

  • Connect to Web3

Discover Web3 without the hurdles. Decentralized apps (DApps) are supported on Solana, Ethereum, and dozens of EVM-compatible networks.

  • Import other wallets

MetaMask and self-custody wallets, or hardware wallets like Trezor & Ledger (no Ledger Live required).

  • Privacy first

Unlike other wallets, Brave doesn’t track any of the actions you make in your wallet. With Brave, privacy comes first.

FAQs about Brave Wallet

  • Security: Most crypto wallets are browser extensions. These extensions have inherent security risks, and are much more susceptible to account spoofing and asset theft. Extensions also require extra CPU to run, creating performance issues on your device. Brave Wallet, by contrast, is browser native. With Brave Wallet, there’s much less risk of account spoofing, phishing, and other scams. It requires less CPU to operate, and is overall much more performant and reliable.

Multi-chain: Brave Wallet users can buy, receive, and send crypto assets across multiple chains, including Ethereum, EVM compatible chains, and Solana. You can also connect other self-custody or hardware wallets, see live market data, and manage your portfolio all in one place. Holders of Ethereum, Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, Avalanche, Celo, and Optimism can also swap assets and leverage Web3 DApps (coming soon for Solana holders).

  • Yes, you need the Brave privacy browser to use Brave Wallet. Download now.
  • Yes, Brave Wallet is completely free to use. However, transactions (like sends or swaps) will require gas fees, and swaps may also include an additional transaction fee. These fees will be similar to—or the same as—other crypto wallets.
  • To get started with Brave Wallet on desktop, open the Brave Browser and click the Wallet icon icon in the toolbar. To get started with Brave Wallet on mobile, open the browser menu and then tap the Wallet icon icon.

If you don’t see the wallet icon, first update to the latest version of Brave.

  • Brave Wallet supports Ethereum, EVM compatible chains and L2s, Filecoin, and Solana. Brave Swaps can be conducted on Avalanche, Binance Smart Chain, Celo, Fantom, Optimism, and Polygon.
  • Yes. Unlike other wallets, Brave Wallet is built with an open MPL license. That means it’s open for others to use, fork, and contribute to.
  • Brave Wallet is available on desktop and mobile, with the same operating requirements as the Brave Browser.

Note that initial versions of the Wallet on mobile may not include support for DApps or custom (EVM compatible) networks. However, we’ll be updating Wallet for mobile on a rolling basis and should have parity soon, so check back often.

Also note that biometrics (fingerprint) to open Brave Wallet is supported on iOS, and on Android 9 (P) and above.

  • For now, syncing between devices is not available for Brave Wallet. However, we hope to make syncing functionality available soon. Check back for more info.
  • Brave Rewards is tied to Brave Private Ads. Brave Browser users who opt-in to Brave Rewards will see privacy-preserving, first-party ads in certain locations as they browse. By viewing these ads, users can earn a crypto token called the Basic Attention Token (BAT).

Brave Wallet is a tool that allows you to buy, store, send, and swap almost any crypto asset & NFT, connect other wallets and Web3 DApps, and generally manage your whole crypto portfolio. You cannot transfer Brave Rewards directly to the Brave Wallet. However, you can move Brave Rewards funds to Uphold, Gemini, or BitFlyer and then withdraw from there to Brave Wallet.

  • Brave’s previous crypto wallet was a fork of MetaMask. The new Brave Wallet is built from scratch by the Brave engineering team, and built natively into the Brave Browser.
  • Brave Wallet is not available as a browser extension. Brave has no plans to make a wallet extension, so if you come across one, you should consider it fraudulent and not download or install.
