Read this article →Brave Wallet’s integration with Solana offers more accessible avenues for DeFi and Web3, via fast transaction speeds, low fees, and a growing ecosystem of decentralized applications (DApps). Our mission with Brave Wallet is about much more than holding and transacting crypto; we aim to create the user-first gateway to an easy-to-use Web3, for anyone, on any device.
Brave’s version 1.41 carries this mission and our integration with Solana forward, introducing:
Brave is continuing to deepen its integration with Solana, first announced in late 2021. With Brave’s 1.41 release, Brave Wallet desktop users can now connect directly to their favorite Solana-based Web3 DApps. This expands Brave Wallet’s Solana support that already includes the ability to send, receive, store, and purchase tokens.
With Solana’s low fees and fast transaction speeds, users can easily explore the network’s vibrant and growing ecosystem. They can buy NFTs on Magic Eden, discover music on Audius, earn tokens through exercise with STEPN, or even collaborate on projects with Squads (just to name a few). Solana also boasts an impressive range of decentralized finance options. Fans of BAT should be on the lookout for a special BAT/Brave-themed NFT collection launching this month on Magic Eden.
“Brave Wallet already makes Web3 easy-to-use with multiple features and partnerships, and today we’re expanding this access via our Solana integration and DApp support for our desktop browsers, with mobile coming soon,” said Brendan Eich, CEO and co-founder of Brave. “Brave users already benefit from Solana’s faster transactions and low fees, and can now directly connect with its growing ecosystem of DApps to explore NFTs, music, fitness, and many more options.”
We’re also announcing an easy way for developers to build Solana DApps with Brave’s 62 million users in mind. In these documents, you’ll find instructions on setting up your DApps to offer a seamless connection with Brave Wallet.
To get started, developers are encouraged to view the dedicated sections for Ethereum and Solana, as well as keep an eye out for updates on support for more blockchains on the horizon.
Release 1.41 is another step in the direction of opening up the decentralized Web to more people. We continue to drive forward our vision of a multi-chain Brave Wallet, offering our community more choice and control with security and privacy at its core.
