Brave and Origin Collaborate on Exclusive NFT Drop in Celebration of Their Ongoing Partnership

This post is a follow-up to our announcement, Brave Introduces Support for NFT Purchases on the Brave Swag Store, Powered by Origin, from February 2021. 

Last year, Brave and Origin announced their partnership, and together unveiled the Brave Swag Store powered by Origin Protocol’s decentralized e-commerce platform, Dshop. The partnership symbolized a departure from old-world e-commerce solutions that track users and clash with Brave’s core privacy values, and a marked step forward in Brave’s progressive decentralization goals. Over their 18-month partnership, Brave and Origin have continued to deliver real-world utility for the decentralized web through the introduction of a cryptocurrency payment option on the Swag Store as well as support for Non-Fungible Token (NFT) purchases. 

Today, we are excited to announce our latest collaboration with Origin, TABONG: a series of six digital Brave x Origin NFT collectibles created in celebration of Brave and Origin’s partnership!

The exclusive series will go live on on Wednesday, June 2nd. One week later on Wednesday, June 9th, all six NFTs in the collection will become available for fans to purchase in an open edition-style sale lasting only 30 minutes. Customers can pay for their NFTs with a credit card, or, for those who prefer to use cryptocurrency, with the following stablecoins: DAI, USDC, USDT, and OUSD. In addition, customers who want to deposit ETH can do so via a convenience link to Uniswap which converts ETH to USDC and deposits it in a single transaction.

For Brave, TABONG follows two highly successful NFT launches with its partner Gala Games: 100 limited Brave x Gala Games Minotaur King Crystal Physical NFTs in December and 100 Brave x Gala Games Farm Bot Physical NFTs in March, which sold out in under five minutes. Brave’s sale of 30 limited NFTs based on winning submissions from a BAT Community Meme Competition one month earlier also sold out in mere minutes. In March, Brave’s pilot with Ether.Cards for their NFT sale used Brave Ads for NFT discovery and included $5.9M in BAT Rewards.
